TURKEY

Last year for thanksgiving, I was in Paris and I cooked a huge thanksgiving diner for all of my friends. This year I am on the US and I don't know what to expect. I guess I will eat twice as much ?

CHEZ PANISSE

In order this is what I have eaten :
To start I had some puntarelle with anchovy, garlic, and egg and roasted cauliflower on toast with capers, grilled scallions and prosciutto, then pasta with pork ragu, marjoram and Parmesan, then duck leg confit with chicories salad, then goat cheese soufflé with butter beans, spinach and chanterelle mushrooms, then a bowl of almonds, dates and pears and then buttermilk panna cotta with huckleberry coulis, and finally tisane.

I came here for chicken, but I heard they arewell known for Salt & Pepper Crab.
The chicken was so good, perfectly crispy on the skin and so damn tender in the inside.
When you arrive they give you tea, I really liked that, it's like a little welcome gift.

BREAKFAST IN AMERICA







































Breakfast makes me happy. I like to take time to prepare it well. These days, because
I work hard all day on my two feet, I like to have some hot cereal, usually whole craked wheat,
with hot milk, bananas and almond butter. And to feel like super woman, I drink a cup of organic coffee from BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE. It's organic coffee, and it's fresh and it's delicious,
and when I drink it I think Parisian coffee can go to hell !

FRITTATA AND PATATOE SALAD

Mes plats préférés à mettre dans mon ventre en ce moment :

La frittata, sorte d'omelette à l'italienne cuite dans un poêle puis au four. On y met ce qu'on aime ou ce qui reste dans le frigo. Mais chèvre, épinard, marjolaine et piment d'Espelette c'est pas mal.
Et une belle salade de pomme de terre avec des câpres, des oignons rouges, pleins d'herbes et de la moutarde !

Yes, I love frittatas and patatoe salad with capers, red onions, a lot of fresh herbs and a strong mustard vinaigrette !

Un petit café pour l'heure du déjeuner, encore dans l'esprit manger localement
et de saison qui est bon et pas trop cher.

Another place for lunch, which is committed in using local, organic, and seasonal produce
using sustainable packaging. But most important, they have good food.

ZUNI CAFE , SAN FRANCISCO


I was pretty happy about this famous cesar salad,
it had a unique flavour of anchovies

but I was disappointed about the crostini (laying next to my cesar),
no love in that plate !

and I was so happy to share this meal with my friend Ramdane Touhami,
who just opened a great restaurant " l'Africain " in the town of Tangier in Morocco.

COOKING IN BERKELEY



What about some needles cooked in brown butter and walnuts served
with poached eggs ?
And tomatoes are also still good out here with bread and a touch of garlic.
